Richard Manson
Richard Manson now teaches voice, guitar, violin and saxophone at Carolyn's Keyboard Corner. Richard played saxophone during jr. high and high school. Entering Memphis State University in 1976, Richard studied voice with Dr. Richard Paige and cello with Peter Spurbeck. He was principal cellist of the Memphis Youth Symphony under Vincent DeFrank.
From 1979 until 1981 Richard toured as guitarist and vocalist with Bobby Fuller and the Fuller Brothers. Returning to Little Rock in 1980, Richard completed the Bachelor of Music Education at UALR, studying voice with Dorothy Sawatski and choral conducting with Dr. Thomas Miyake.
For 24 years, Richard taught public school music in Manatee County, Florida. He has taught general music in elementary school, middle school chorus, guitar and string orchestra. His last post was in choral music, piano lab, and string orchestra at Palmetto High School. Retiring from public school teaching in 2009, Mr. Manson returned to his home town of Little Rock to be near family and continue teaching private students.
