 Marty has been a working
drummer for close to 25 years as well as being an audio engineer for almost
as long. Besides his experience from “the school of hard knocks”
he has studied music at the college level and with private instructors along
the way. He toured extensively from the mid 80s until the mid 90s sharing the stage with many popular acts of the time (Cheap Trick, Poison, Head East...) to name a few. Marty still plays 90 to 100 shows a year with local favorite “Mr. Happy” of which he was a founding member in 1993. Marty has been teaching beginner and intermediate students for 5 years. Marty’s philosophy is that each student is an individual and approaches his methods with that in mind. Areas of emphasis include: reading, proper hand technique, understanding of rudiments, comfort in different genres of music, and most importantly have fun playing music. |
