Articles by Ray Bell

Sadly, Ray passed away Friday morning, November 21, 2008. He will
be deeply missed by his family and his many, many friends.
RIP good buddy.

Some of you all may know or recognize Master Guitarist Ray Bell, instructor of guitar at Boyd Music Center for almost 40 years, more recently, instructor at Romco Music. Ray has specialized in jazz and classical guitar but is well versed in most styles of playing as well as being a superb mandolinist. Ray is recently retired due to health reasons.

Some of you may NOT know that Ray has also written several articles about music as it applies to the guitar, music in general, and the 'rock and roll' scene in particular.

Please understand that Ray's writings are largely 'tongue in cheek' and at times somewhat acerbic. But many of you will understand the underlying truths in what he is saying..... and take his writings to heart.

Needless to say, Ray is a dear friend.....      Bob Lincoln

Following are three of Ray's articles written in the late 1990s which appeared in the "You've Got a Friend" magazine, published by Bob Boyd, Boyd Music Center. Click any underscored title to read the article.
